This course is the first of a four-course series designed to prepare fire service personnel or other students interested in becoming a California Certified Fire Inspector 1. It is one of the State Board of Fire Services-accredited courses and applies to California Fire Service Training and Educational System certifications. Topics covered provide a broad, technical overview of fire prevention codes, ordinances, inspection practices, key hazards, responsibilities and authority, occupancy classification and types of construction, egress requirements, fire-resistant assemblies, general fire safety provisions, and principles and procedures for fire inspections.
