This course provides students with an immersive exploration of the cultural, social, and linguistic dimensions of a host country or region. Through participation in local learning experiences—such as language immersion classes, lectures on history and culture, and guided cultural excursions—students develop a deeper understanding of global perspectives, intercultural communication, and cultural diversity. Emphasis is placed on experiencing the host culture firsthand while critically reflecting on one’s own cultural assumptions and values. The course is designed to accompany a study abroad program but may also be offered domestically in partnership with community-based cultural organizations.
