PLMB 040W - Pump, Valves, and Regulators

Prerequisite:Enrollment restricted to State Indentured Plumbers Union Apprentices, PLMB 040A, PLMB 040C, PLMB 040D, PLMB 040E, PLMB 040F, PLMB 040G, PLMB 040H

This course is designed to meet the needs of indentured apprentices with the State of California who are interested in the plumbing industry. The course covers approved materials for the function, purpose, and design of various types of pumps, valves, and pressure regulators. This course includes identifying key components and their functions in each apparatus as well as hydraulic calculations associated with the selection of these appurtenances. Students explore the use of flow charts and performance curves for specifying pumps.
