This kinesiology course critically examines the multifaceted relationship between sport and society, analyzing how each influences and reflects the other. Emphasis is placed on the role of socialization and the impact of key societal factors such as gender, race, media, violence, and politics within the context of sport. The course integrates current events and peer-reviewed scholarly literature to support the development of informed, evidence-based perspectives on contemporary issues in sport.
