PAC 040 - Basic Police Recruit Class

Prerequisite: Medical clearance, California Department of Justice clearance for firearms training, passing scores on POST written and physical tests (agency sponsored cadets are exempt)
Advisory:It is advised that students be able to engage in written composition at a college level and read college-level texts.

This is a fundamental course that covers criminal law, evidence, procedure and investigation, firearms, first aid, defense tactics, use of chemical agents, and other police-related subjects. This course meets the educational requirements for basic certification by the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST).
