READ 101 - Critical Reading

Prerequisite:Enrollment requires the ability to read college-level texts
Advisory:It is advised that students be able to engage in written composition at a college level.

This course is designed to aid students in acquiring critical reading and thinking skills across the disciplines. Emphasis is placed on the ability to analyze and evaluate material by establishing thesis and support as well as by analyzing elements of argumentation. The course also focuses on vocabulary and the effects of language on readers.
