WELD 083 - Pipe Welding II

Prerequisite: WELD 081

This course is second in a series of courses for welding of carbon steel pipe using the shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). The course will cover safety procedures, electrode selection, weld joint preparation, and weld quality. Emphasis will be placed on achieving proficiency in welding pipe in the 1G, 2G and 6G positions in accordance with American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) pressure vessel codes.
