Prerequisite: WELD 083
This course is an advanced course to provide further development in pipe welding skills leading to certification. The course will survey the theory and application of welding carbon steel pipe using shielded metal arc welding SMAW in the 2G, 5G, and 6G positions using downhill and uphill progression. Emphasis will be placed on the development advanced skills welding pipe in accordance with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the American Welding Society (AWS) codes.
